Yesterday, I went to a local running shop to pick up the Strassburg Sock in the hopes that it would help with the PF. Since I was there, I thought I may as well be fitted for shoes and see if the ones I have fit me right. I was never fitted before because I was told by more than one person that flat feet equals motion control shoes. Well, not only was I wearing the wrong shoes all this time, I was wearing the wrong size as well! After trying on a bunch of different pairs, and running outside in all of them, I settled on a pair of Asics. I also picked up a Pro-Stretch to help out with the PF.
We had a big monsoon storm here last night, which led to cooler temperatures this morning (75 degrees). So I went out for a couple of miles in my new Asics. No pain and the best run I've had since having dealt with the whole PF thing.
I have not blogged about my knitting because I'm working on a few gifts for people that I know read this blog. But I will post pics after the gifts go out in the mail.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and good luck to everyone who is racing!

Isn't it great finding the right shoe? I'm glad you were able to get fitted and fixed up!
Holy crap that's a lot of water...
A professional fitting makes all the difference. In fact, I'm getting one for the next pair. Not 100 per cent satisfied with my Brooks this time. I wonder if I need to go wider...
We've been having crazy amounts of rain here too, but thankfully have not flooded. Yet.
I bought my first pair of Asics (GT-2130s) a couple of weeks ago. They're working out great for me. I hope yours do to. Well, for you, not me. ;)
dang! Rain! that's a lot of water! Are you rowing to the gym today? ;p
Congrats on the new shoes :)
I heart my asics!! I actually went to OWS swim last night right before that storm hit. Good thing we decided not to swim!
The proper fit makes all the difference in the world! Enoy!
i sure hope you got the right shoe this time!
i spent some time at the running store today too, and they think i've been in the wrong shoes too. who knew?!?
i'll blog about it after i have tried them out.
I'm really glad the test run went well. Hope you'll be happily running again.

YEAH! I run in Asics-best shoes EVER!!! I'm thrilled you had a great run!! It's such a wonderful feeling! And way cooler temps! How awesome-ok the monsoon might not have been awesome but the cooler weather must have been amazing!
Having a shoe that fits perfectly makes all the difference in the world (just ask Cinderella ;D)!
Hopefully the new shoes make all the difference in no future foot pain.
That's a lot of rain!
GIRL! I can't believe you are going to do the half-marathon. I am so jealous ~ you are my hero!!
One thing I don't miss about AZ is the monsoons & the humidity that follows! :)
Glad you had a good run- must have been a wicked storm!
you can totally blog about my gift!
I dont mind.

Wow that's nuts! What do you guys normally get for rain 1 inch a year? LOL
I've never heard of those socks. Interesting!
Did you get some?
I wear the Asics Evolution and loved, loved, loved my 1st pair, so got a 2nd pair 6 months later & not loving them as much, but am still happy with them.
I was so intimdated the 1st time I went to a running store to be fit, but sucked up my pride & went in and was amazed at how helpful & knowledgeable the people were.
Glad you got some good shoes!
Now get out there and run in them!
The best shoe fitting I ever had involved being observed while running on a treadmill. I've been wearing Asics for years. I'm a 6.5 in regular shoes and 8W in my asics!
I heard about all that rain! It would be a monsoon for you guys. Glad your PF is getting some respite.
it is so great to get the right shoes for you! Woo hoo! I am about 2 sizes bigger than normal on my running shoes. Weird, right? I bet you will feel a lot better from now on running. :-)
I'm so glad you got shoes that fit! I had the same "A-ha!" moment the first time I got fitted for shoes too. I was wearing size 6.5 and was fitted into size 8 shoes when I went to my running store. I also have Asics. I love them because they're super cushy and lightweight.
Running stores make my heart smile in a big way. I'm glad you found one near you.
How funny! Wrong size and wrong shoe. Glad you got that figured out.
75 degrees sounds nice!
I am about to start week 3 of the push up challenge. I was scared when I printed it out. I think I'll wait until tomorrow!
I hear you're still having crazy weather there-hope all is well!!!
Very cool about the new sneaks. I hope that you continue to feel good while running. I have been there during monsoon season and LOVED it.
Run, run...my shoes are ruined! Time for a new pair.
I hope your socks work for your PF.
Glad to hear that the new shoes might be helping with the PF. It is a nasty problem, isn't it?
I think we tend to wear the wrong size running shoes, much like we tend to wear the wrong size bras ;-)
(or so I've heard)
(from that Oprah lady)
Oh my goodness, look at all of that water. Crazy!!!
So glad you got fitted for the shoes, that will make your runs SO MUCH better. Sounds like it already is.
Oh yes you have found some shoes that help you run pain free. That is great news. It does make a big difference for some of. I still know peeps who run in old yard shoes and no probs. LOL!
Great on pushing through the push up challenge great job!
Glad you found the right fit!
So glad you found the right shoe! It changes your world, I tell ya~!
