The rain forced me to do my run on the treadmill today. I can't stand running on the treadmill - just way too boring for me. Even with the MP3 player, changing speeds every once in a while, and changing inclines every now and then, I always feel like every mile goes by so slowly. So I start running, and planned to do 4.5 miles. I get to 4.4 miles, and I'm so psyched because I'm almost done, and the treadmill display says "START COOLDOWN" and the speed just drops. I quickly try to adjust the speed back up, and then the display says "WORKOUT SUMMARY" and then just shuts down completely. WHAT?!?! I wasn't going to let the treamill beat me out of completing 4.5 miles, so I started it back up again and did the remaining tenth of a mile. Treadmills are just evil.
I had a knitting disaster last week. I was almost done with the project I was working on for my friend's birthday, when I realized that I wouldn't have enough yarn to finish it. So I had to start all over again with a different yarn. My friend reads this blog, so now, my friend, you know why your gift is going to be late.
I'm halfway done with the Veteran's scarf I'm knitting for
Knit Your Bit. This campaign is run by the WWII Museum in New Orleans, and they distribute the scarves to veterans all over the country. I mentioned the charity at my local knitting group, and a few of them also knit up some scarves for the vets. Thank you

I hate treadmills as well!!! I actually sold mine-I decided I'd suffer when it rains-which luckily it doesn't do much in southern california!!
You see this is why I just don't run. LOL!
Love the scarf. K did that pattern too. I'll bring mine for you on Saturday. I love this knitting for charity thang we have goin' on. :)
Mwah.
I hate treadmills too!
One way i have found to get through a workput on them though is with an itrain session...
have a look http://www.itrain.com/index1.php - they help me out!!
Very informative. I'd always assumed that a "knitting disaster" would involve getting one of those needles stuck in an unfortunate place, but I learned that perhaps I have the wrong idea about knitting and its potential hazards.
And the dreadmill? Yeah, it sucks.
I hate treadmills too!!! It's been so cold here lately that I've been running on one at the gym. 30 minutes is my limit before I start going crazy on the thing...have you heard of the swimming treadmills they have in gyms now? Seems like a hellish idea.
