I didn't really feel like running today, but with the 10K in 10 days, now is not the time to be a slacker. So I got out there and did my 3 miles according to the training schedule. It was a good run, and when I looked at the numbers, my splits were a little bit faster than they usually are. But at the end of the run, I thought "am I really ready to do this 10K?"
I've done all the miles, and kept up with the training, so in reality I have no reason not to be ready. It's probably because I've never run a 10K. My long run on Sunday will be along the race route so that will ease my nerves.

You'll be fine....
Don't stress about it... and just look on it as a nice long training run.. just so happens that you'll have decided to do it with a few 100 other people :o)
dont worry, you'll do fine.
I've done one 10km race, and couldnt decide if I should throw up or chick out ..... ended up doing neither, thanks to the wonderful support of some ladies that I met just before the race.
keep us posted !!
You'll do it! I know you will.
Well, you were more deciated than I yesterday!
You can do the 10K!
You can do it! This is what you've worked so hard for.
You can do it :) Think about it as 6 miles, that helps me. 10k seems like a big number, but really you'll be done in around an hour, give or take! When I'm running long distances, I try to keep track of whether the run down feeling (saying, I just want to stop!) is mental or physical. If I've done the training, that nagging voice is usually all mental. So when negative thoughts come in, I think how strong I am, how good I feel, how great it's going to feel to finish, etc.
Long comment :) Sorry.
Thanks for the birthday wishes!
Don't be nervous-take your nerves and turn them into excitement because that's how you'll feel when you get there. There will be such a buzz and you'll feed on it and the energy you'll get will be awesome!! If you've put in the miles you'll be fine!!! Don't put any pressure on yourself!!Go out there to have a good time! They way I look at each race is that I'm running for myself-no one else~ my ultimate goal is to finish and that's the key! If I get a great time, then that's icing on the cake!! You'll have a blast!!You'll probably meet lots of people before the race and then once you start running you'll find people that run your pace-that always helps! Don't worry! It will be an adventure!!!
I know you'll do great! You can always push a little more in race day, even if you haven't covered the distance in training.
No pep talk-it's the truth! You'll do great! you'll get such a rush on race day!!! Just you wait and see!!! You have to let us know how you did-and take pics if you can...that's always fun and gives you a little distraction!!
As for me being a true runner-well I've been running for most of my life-it's my drug!! Guess it's a good one!!! And honestly I can't tell you how happy I am to be back running pain free after 7 years of running in agony!!! It has made me realize the love and joy running brings me!!!

I am sooo impressed. Cant get myself to start running, but do a lot of fast walking.
I am sure you will do great in the run, there is always something extra in your body when the big day is there.
