I'm feeling the burn from yesterday's boot camp. Those flys and chest presses must have really worked because I'm definitely feeling it today. But I still got out there this morning for a quick two mile run. I again didn't get up early, so it was already 65 degrees, but I still got out there and that's all that counts.

Yesterday I went to Costco and my bargain find was this: A 3 pack of Turkey Bacon for $4.97. Since my post on turkey bacon, I've actually started liking it alot, so hopefully these will taste just as good, if not better.

Question for all you Garmin users in blogland - how accurate is the pace? During my run today, the pace was all over the place, and I didn't think my pace was so up and down like Garmin said it was. Just curious. Thanks in advance.
Happy almost Friday!

why am I giggling at the 3 pack of turkey bacon?
you are my kindred "LOOK WHAT A DEAL I GOT AT COSTCO" spirit.

Sometimes I think the Garmin is insane... like when I am chugging along (prior to being injured) and look down and it says 14:15 per mile. Impossible! But I believe the overall pace is very accurate (as in, when it lists the mile splits).
Thanks for your encouragement!
My pace jumps around a lot too. I agree with Susan that I think the mile pace is correct, but it recalibrates or something a lot!
I wonder about how accurate the heart rate is - sometimes I've gotten 220 reading. I certainly don't put out that much effort when running - a really hot naked guy would have to dash and smile at me by to get my heart rate up that high!
Good job on feeling the burn - I'm def. doing boot camp when the next session starts mid-April.
Last year for Christmas a friend game me a case of reddi-crisp bacon (for BBQ shrimp or backpacking) and I gave her a case of Perrier. We hadn't even compared notes on what we were getting each other!
Turkey bacon eh?
I have a Garmin. I think the pace on the watch during the run is a bit off. I looked down at my watch during the marathon in Shamrock and it said I was running at 18 minute mile. Now I was going to slowly but NOT that slowly. Overall I think it's pretty accurate though.
I just got a Garmin 205 and you can set the pace to be specific or average. Specific will jump all over the place because it has a slight delay from the satellite sometimes. Hiccups. I like doing the quick workout with the virtual partner :) That seems to be a better and more consistent gauge of running time --
P.S. How cool is the Garmin?! I'm in love. I love looking at the computer readout online :)
My running partner and I compare paces on our Garmins and they are always different. We can be running side by side, totally in step, and hers always says we are going faster than mine. Which is nice for me, because then she slows down! :-)
I do think that the Garmin pace will jump around if it is between satellites or if you go by a building that blocks satellites. I remember last summer I was running along and looked down to see an 18 min mile and I was shocked. It's just not 100%.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog and for listening to the show. Wow! I'm so honored!!
Have a great Friday and a fantastic weekend - may it be filled with your passions! :)
I Heart Cosco!! Nice work.
Garmy does jump around, the end result is pretty accurate though. Sometimes I look at fastest pace and know that it is on crack. :D
My garmie is all over the place too, but I think it all works out in the end.
What I don't like is the calorie calculation. It thinks I am only burning about 60 to 70 calories per mile!
I looove turkey bacon, what a steal. I bet if I lived in Costco, i could live to be 150 years old. Just a guess.
I think the pace jumps around a lot when it has some interference, like trees buildings and stuff.
That burn from working out is so good. It's that knowing it is working. Maybe I am just weird!
Way to get out there for that run while being sore :-)
Turkey bacon is still not on my good side, but that is a great deal. A 3 pack of anything at that price these days is a good deal.
