Perfect Weather!

Today's weather was perfect for both running and knitting. It was cloudy and cool - perfect for a run, and then staying in and knitting.

I went out and ran 3 miles this morning. I compared my time from today to previous three mile runs from a few months back, and my speed is definitely improving. The past couple of days have been warm here, so it was so nice to run in cooler temperatures. I'm really dreading the Arizona summer heat.

Unfortunately I'm still dealing with a few work projects, so there was no knitting today. I'm currently knitting up a pair of charade socks in Plucky knitter yarn. I've been working on these for about 3 weeks now, and as you can see, I'm not getting very far with them. I'm usually almost done with a pair after 3 weeks, but for some reason I'm just not into this project. Not sure if it's the yarn, the pattern, maybe I'm getting tired of knitting socks? Who knows. I think I will put these aside for now and see how I feel about them later on.
Congrats to Laura on her half marathon and Nat on her full marathon today! I thought of you gals today as I was running and I'm proud of both of you. You ladies ROCKED!

I love to knit socks, but get tired of them too. I have been on a shawl kick lately...

I almost have a rock in my stomach about the thought of running in 110 weather again. :<( At least the worst of the heat doesn't last long. We can do it. :>D

I bet the Arizona heat is awful! you too will be getting up at 4:30am to run! best time of the morning for a run-especially in a warm climate!!! Enjoy the cool weather!

I think I'm getting over the sock kick. The thing is they are such a small commitment it's a lot easier than picking a pattern for a bigger project. I think my current pair of boyfriend socks that I'm knitting (for me not my bf) will be the last sock pattern for a while.

Hope the work is easing up.

I dont see where it says what part of the country you are in but i tell you this humidity and warmth here already in Houston is KILLING ME!!!

Hopefully you get a little cool break here soon. at least we are after the hellish storms we endured today!

How has your week gone? Good runs or boot camp? yeah, this work stuff is hard to get back into after having over 3 months off-it's a shock to my system! And it will be even more a shock when the shooting starts next week! I'll be wanting time off again!!

I love how your socks are turning out, I had the same problem the last month or so with the last three tries that I have been working on. Now I'm just doing a stockinette sock and it is going much smoother. I think I may do a shawl next too.

oh gosh - I can't imagine running in Arizona in the summer. I'm not generally an early riser hehe. Thanks for the Koolaas comment! It's $5 to buy the pattern at Interweave knits online if you're interested. I highly recommend it :)
