I'm back in boot camp class and loving it. Today's class included circuit training, upper and lower body, and even included a short trail run. It was my first run on a trail and I think I will be running trails more often. As we were doing chest presses and flys with our weights, our boot camp instructor told a few of us "veteran" boot campers that it was time for us to step it up from 5 pound weights to 8 pound weights. Maybe 8 pounders are just what I need to get the definition I'm aiming for in my arms. Oh, and if you want to see what my idea of toned and defined arms are, just take a look at mizfit's arms. Her biceps and triceps are amazing.
Hope everyone's having a good week. Keep on keeping on, people.

8 pounds! Way to go! I think I did 2.5 yesterday in body pump and I am feeling it today!. LOL
I love it when it's time to "step it up"... the workout becomes a challenge all over again! How great is the feeling of a good boot camp class? :)
that's a nice surprise!
I was just coming to check in on you.
now, I think Im jealous.
are you SORESORESORE already? in a great way?
this weekend Im going to get a chance (first in...2 years? we're trying to start again) to lift with my husband and hope to finally be sore again.

Trail runs kick my butt - they're awesome! And such a nice change from concrete or the treadmill :) Or the indoor track (shudder) :)
I soooooooooo want to run on a trail. I think there are some around here, but I have no idea where.
Oh man that is intense! Good job!
I wish I had a bootcamp class that wasn't expensive around here.
Great job on stepping it up. That is what it takes to see true results.
Awesome job on boot camp! Do you have to do an early rise and shine for it?
Way to step it up! That mizfit's arms are insanely awesome!
Hope your not too sore later.
not a fan of trail running...too risky for injury and i always end up with more ouches than if i just run.
keep up the excellent work!!
OK Girl -- I'm going to do one of these boot camp things too. It'll start in mid-April.
I'm kinda scared, but I don't mind finishing last. But if I get yelled at, I'll cry and throw a dumbbell at them!
Get this though -- the boot camp has classes at the dreaded 5:30 am, then at 11 am, 5:30 pm and 8 pm! Isn't that awesome! Pluse there are about 6 different locations across Houston.
I'm getting psyched up for it -- and will live it viacariously through you for the next couple of weeks (so do good!) (I know you will!).
Trail runs are the best!!! Nothing hurts when you run on trails! It's the way we should all run!!! Good for you, veteran bootcamper!!!
Awesome. I am reminded about my lagging strength work. :D
I love all your knitting projects, makes me want to get back to it. I am self taught and only have the basics, but it is still fun. I love the little sock you made. Great idea. Also, that package is so cool, what a neat idea. How fun!!
Thanks for your kind comments!
Oh yeah, The Des Moines half is very flat, all in downtown and along river so the elevation is consistent. It's in October. :D I heard there is a new San Antonio Rock and Roll that might be interesting too! Good luck.
I've just started doing some trail running too and I love it. We should schedule a run together sometime :-)
