It's the weekend!

The lack of blogging this week is due to work overload. The lack of running this week is due to the evil Arizona sun.

Yesterday I foolishly tried to run at 8 AM, when it was already in the 80's. I got one mile in and decided it wasn't worth it. Today I went out for a run at 5:30 AM, and got in a great three miles. Still pretty warm, but I didn't have to deal with too much sun.

I refuse to let the sun keep me from running. I've already googled a calendar of sunrise times from now until September, so I know exactly when to run before the heat sets in. I'm not looking forward to running at 4:30 AM, but don't we all do crazy things just to get in a run?

I have no knitting pics to post. I'm currently knitting a gift for my friend's birthday, and since she reads this blog, pics will have to wait. But I did knit up another wee tiny sock for a swap that I'm doing. This time I put it on a tiny sock blocker key chain.

Oh good LORD that's early! That kind of heat would be rough.

I don't think you are going to catch me up at 4:30. The heat really sucks though! I usually wait and go at 8 pm but it's still pretty hot then in August...

Wow! That is inspirational! I can't imagine having to get up that early...I love sleeping way too much! And to think, I was going to complain about running at 11:30 today in the 80ish degree heat, I should be counting my blessings!

I forget to remember how lucky I am to live in Colorado - in the summer.

Running at ridiculously early times (like 4 am) makes total sense to me but I think it's because the first time I ever ran in my life was at Boot Camp. I'm like an imprinted duckling - running that early makes it feel like "real" running. NOT that I LIKE it so much... :D

Thanks for the links to the weight loss challenge. I followed them and I signed up! (Eeek.) I've never done anything like it before - but I have to do SOMETHING! Peace.

Thank you for the well-wishes!! I decided to do my training run instead of the 5K. I'm really glad I did -- we have a great group and had a good little run.
I might start to like this again...

I have to get up at 5:45am Saturdays for my runs in Houston, which I think is 4:45 your time - want me to give you a call?

Wow, that's early.
But the bling make it all worth it!

80 at 8 AM??!! Holy crap! I get up super early on weekdays before work, but I'm DEFINITELY dreading having to wake up early on Saturdays also to avoid doing LSDs in the heat. The things we do...

That mini-sock is great! I do pottery and would love to eventually try to knit. I also joined the challenge.

It was our first summery morning here in NJ and I thought I would have to start getting up earlier if I want to get in an outside run. Somehow I don't see tbe 4am thing happening here ;)

80 deg at 8am? Holy smokes. Guess you better get up earlier. Glad *I* don't live there!!! LOL

We're holding steady at 60 . . . all day. Maybe I could send of our cool stuff your way and you could send some of your sunshine up my way and we can BOTH be happy!

Kudos for getting up so early to get in a great run. You rock!

That is determination printing out all future sunrises to schedule your running. WTG! The heat is a you know what, and I am sure AZ is sun blistering. Thanks for the plug on the challenge & the running shout out!

I think I'd run on a treadmill rather than get up at 4:30am (I don't care for treadmills, but I also do do 4:30am).

I'm glad I don't have to deal with the heat that you have out there!
