A Run in the Desert

Today I went for a run and decided to take some pics along the way.

Saguaro Cactus

Going up the long hill

Cholla Cactus (also known as Jumping Cholla Cactus)

Still going up that hill...

Prickly Pear Cactus

After 1.75 miles, I finally get to the top of the hill.

I went around a 4 mile loop, so of course, after going down the hill, I had to run back up to get to my goal of 5.5 miles. It was a little warm (65 degrees) but still a great run.

I am just about finished knitting another pair of socks and will have pics tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Cacti!!! (or is it cactuses.)
Now the only cactuses I see around here are in a pot.

Not sure I could run in that heat...

Desert stuff! I no longer live in the desert (and don't really miss it), but seeing pictures like that remind me of some good times. :)

Sometimes I love hills, and sometimes I hate them! Glad you had a good run~

Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your kind words! I love your pics! I have been to Arizona 3 times now and really enjoyed it. I also ran the Lost Dutchman 10k a few years back. And as for running in the back of the pack, I know from what you're speaking! Its definitely a different perspective, but as I said, I am going to make it a priority to enjoy myself more from now on. What is your next event?

what cool pictures! I've never run by a cactus before, the only ones I have ever seen have been for sale at the store. (can you tell I don't travel much!) Thanks for sharing your run with us!

Oh the scenery you have. I just look at the same houses over and over when I run. Only so many windows you can look in. HAHA

I'm going to put a list of races together, hopefully this weekend, and see if we can find a race to run in together. i was hoping for the Half in San Fran and a tiffany box-but since I didn't get in that wont be happening....we'll find something
