Kai tagged me for 6 things, so here are mine.
- I am trilingual. I can speak English, Spanish, and Tagalog (Filipino).
- I haven't eaten any pizza in several months. Before that, I ate pizza at least once every couple of weeks. Surprisingly, I don't really miss it.
- Places I have traveled to for family reunions: Guam, Philippines, Australia, CA, NC, MA, and Las Vegas. Going on vacation with 30 or 40 relatives is always an adventure.
- My first "real" job was as a social worker for the state department of public welfare. Oh, the stories I could tell you.
- I have always loved writing letters and sending cards. I'm the type of person who still sends "snail mail" whenever I can. In this day and age of voicemail and email, I think it's always nice to get something in the mail that isn't a bill or junk mail.
- We have three dogs: one beagle and two daschunds. We rescued all of them and now they live like royalty.
I'm tagging anyone else who wants to play along.
**********
We went to see "The Dark Knight" and I agree with Viv and Jess. This was probably the best movie I've seen in a long time, and Heath Ledger's best performance.
Yesterday was my 5 miler. I started later than I planned, but still got out there and SLOWLY got it done. I have to admit that I didn't think about having to train in the desert during the summer months when I signed up for this half. But once I get through August, these early morning runs will get much easier.
I finished knitting one sock of my next pair. It's been awhile since I've knit a pair of socks for myself, and I need to replace the pair that Xenia took from me while on her way to see the Wizards of Blogland. So these are for me. I can't begin to tell you how vibrant the colors are in this yarn. It's so gorgeous that even Mr. Running Knitter said the yarn was beautiful (in all my years of knitting, he's never said anything about how the yarn looks). I am using Wollmeise yarn and the color is called Pfauengague.
Hope everyone has a great week!

I agree with you on the snail mail -- I'm a huge postal customer. I love getting and sending cards, letter, photos, anything! It's always such a treat, huh?
Your dogs are cuties!
Thanks for weighing in on the push ups at my site. How was Week 4 for you? Since I had to do week 2 and week 3 twice, I'm a little nervous about week 4. I should probably just prepare to do it twice!
Trilingual, a runner, and a knitter? Is there anything you can't do?
Hey, at least I only steal quality goods. :)
Your new socks are fabu! And the dogs are indeed cuties.
Have a good week yourself!
Trilingual! How cool.
I really really want to see that movie. I hope to get a chance while it is in theaters. Usually we wait til they hit on demand.
Cute socks!
Oy, you gotta teach me Tagalog next. One of the things I hated my Mom not doing for us (my sister and I) was not teaching it to us. BAH! Parents, always to blame, huh? ;-) LOL JK!
How do you get so much knitting done. I am working on a baby shawl, and have been for the last 4 months... and I knit probably an average of 1.5 hours day... every day.
The sock is so pretty!! And Wollmeise is so generous with the yardage, too. I hope that someday I get to knit with it but for now it is hard to come by!
Very cool facts! Your dogs are adorable! Absolutely a-dor-a-ble!
love the tags!
tri-lingual?
dang woman...AND you knit?! :)
You doggies are so cute!!! =) My dog is treated like a little prince too lol
Oh I LOVE Beaggies!!! Yes, Daschunds too, oh and good for you to pet rescue!! I knew I liked you for a reason! LOL...awhhhh what are their names???
Love the sock pattern and colours...so nice!!!
I get all slobbery and dorky when I see peoples doggie pictures. I'm such an avid dog lover, and even more so when they are rescue dogs. How can you resist those precious wittle faces!
Yes, its nice to get regular mail. I like to send cards too. Cute doggies! They obviously love you guys. What half marathon are you doing? I keep forgetting to ask. And yes, beautiful yarn! My mother knitted just about everything you could possibly knit, including all our doll clothes when I was growing up. Can you imagine knitting sleeves for a Barbie Doll??
Beautiful pics of the dogs. All of ours have been rescues too, one from the pound and one from someone moving away. We applied earlier this year for a graduate (or "career change dog") from Guide Dogs for the Blind.
man I just want to learn how to knit a scarf:) Your pro!
THREE languages!? Oooh jealous.
Also I want to be a part of your family- seeing all of those places because of family reunions is awesome!
snail mail is always nice!
Love the colors of the sock! Very nice!
You're quite a neat lady. Love the facts. Your beagle looks a little fluffy! Love the socks as well.
i hear you on running in the heat... geesh it really hinders my ability more than I thought it would
Mike and I saw the Dark Knight last Sunday and I agree, best performance of Heath's and I heart Christian Bale. Already looking forward the Batman 3.
Aww cute puppies :) I'm impressed about your languages. I'm all English speaking, with bits and pieces of Spanish, Italian, and French hehe. Oh and I can say Good Day in German. hehe. and Thank you. Important ones right? :)
Not sure how you can live without pizza!
We're hoping to get to the movies soon to see Dark Knight soon - can't wait!
Happy running, as always. :)
I would miss pizza SOOO much (have you seen my most recent post?...)
And I agree too - Batman was great!
No pizza?! And you don't miss it? Amazing. =)
Neat 6 things. I really admire your language ability & traveling adventures.
I love beagles. My grandpa had beagles as hunting dogs when I was growing up. We loved it when there were pups around. Made the summers so much more entertaining.
Cute perros y agradable calcetín! :)
Pizza is one of my downfalls. I have to have it and eat about 5 slices if not more, lol.
Happy runnin'
Beautiful sock!! Just lovely. You knit so nice! I am self taught so I am always admiring your nice works. :D
I haven't had pizza in forever either!!! I've been reeeally good at controlling my post-nightclub/party munchies : )
Trilingula and 3 doggies..how cute! I love the socks, i really admire your talent. WTG on the 5 miler, GREAT JOB!!
ok...I love the fact that you have three rescues!!! I knew we had more in common that a love for running!!! I can only imagine what the heat is like right now for you! Must suck! But you're doing it-that's awesome!!

Dark Knight sounds like an awesome movie. Hope we can see it soon.
Cute socks, too. You live in the desert but need knit socks? I'd probably live in flip flops!
Trilingual? Damn, woman! That's mad impressive!!

great facts! Holy moly...I can't even speak english properly. I can't imagine being trilingual.
Love the doggie pics!!!
I can't believe I missed this! Kai tagged me too for this way back when but I didn't get to read all of the other people who responded. I can't believe you are trilingual -- and not just that, but that you speak Tagalog. I am so envious! My mom is Filipina but she never taught my brother or me Tagalog. I really wish I had learned it. Maybe some day!
