I finished my monkey socks, and I love how they turned out. I used Wollmeise superwash in the color veilchen. The best way to describe the beautiful purple is like the tail of a peacock.
Would you belive I have enough left over yarn to make another pair of socks? There is probably enough to make a pair of ankle socks - can't beat that.
Bootcamp class started again this week, and my arms are feeling it. As much as I wanted to skip my run this morning, I had read that one way to get rid of muscle soreness is to do a light workout. So I did an easy two miles, and my arms actually felt a little better afterwards.
I've decided not to run the half in next month's Lost Dutchman Marathon. I haven't kept up with the mileage like I should be, and as much as I'd like to think I could still run it without the proper training, I don't want to take that chance. But the Lost Dutchman does have other races that day, so I'm running the 10K instead. I still have time to train and a 10K race is still a pretty notable accomplishment. I still have the whole rest of the year to fulfill my goal of running a half marathon.

They came out great!
Those socks are absolutely beautiful! Someday I hope to get my hands on some Wollmeise!
Good luck in training for the 10k!
They came out BEAUTIFUL! I want to see them in person!
barb is right to be trying to scam everyone out of that colorway! it's beautiful!!
Nice Socks! Keep on Running! As you say, 10K is still a respectable race. And it is alot of fun too. I like 10K's best of all, although around here most races are 5K. I'm only starting to get "warmed up" at 2 miles, and suddenly at 3 the race is over. 10K.....much better - ENJOY!
i need me some wollmeise!!;o) those are a lovely shade of purple, great work! i love monkey's:o)
I absolutely love those monkeys, the colors are so pretty, on screen and IRL. Amazing.
Those are awesome! I love the purple.
Great socks!
If you run a 10k, you'll still have done more by 10 a.m. than many people will do all day!
Thanks for comments, they gave me hope. It really is time to get serious.
These are great! I have monkey socks slated as my next project.
