Healthy You Challenge Check In and the Cheerleader in me

I joined the Healthy You Challenge so here's my weekly "checking in" post. No movement on the scale this week, which is OK with me. This week it's back to boot camp, running, and clean eating. I'm training for Nancy's virtual race:

Pokey and I will be running it together, and we will be ready! Like Pokey says, NO EXCUSES!
This morning as I was leaving boot camp, I drove by a group of three runners. I wanted to say "Good job! Keep it up!" to them. But then I thought that probably wouldn't go over too well. Crazy women drives by runners and yells out at them "Way to go!". So I just silently cheered them on. Must be the cheerleader in me that wants to motivate everyone.

I am totally with you! I always want to cheer on runners with just a word of encouragement. I know that would freak me out though. Good luck on the 10th! You guys are going to do awesome!!

The Healthy You Challenge looks great! And it can be so inspiring to see people hard at work outside.

I am so going to smoke you in the virtual race. ;) Kidding.

You guys sound like my kind of runners. I'll run with you in spirit and many many miles away.

Too funny - I saw a "middle aged heavyset" man trudging along a running trail on my drive home & so wanted to yell encouragement to him! But I figurerd he wouldn't be able to hear my words & would think someone was making fun of him.

When I'm doing a long run on the weekends (well, back when I used to anyway), I always said encouraging words to the people going in the opposite direction.

I really like going back to cheer people on in races. I'm super slow, but shockingly enough there are still people behind me (mostly walkers).

Guess I have some inner cheerleader too! (But I think she high-kicked my inner runner...)

I want to do that, too, but never know how they'll take it. Honking to say "hi" would probably be frowned upon as well.

Good luck on the 10th! I plan to run that virtual race, too.

Its good to be a cheerleader! The 10k on the 10th sounds good. I will be doing a 5K for real and I'll add a 5K in spirit for you! I got my ravlery invite the other day, I hope to get my stuff set up this weekend!

I do yell affirmations at runners sometimes and just live with the strange looks. It actually feels good :-)

haha, you remind me of me. when I see runners outside I always want to roll down my window and say "good job, keep it up" but then I would probably scare them and they would think some psycho was stalking them so I just say it to myself inside my car.

I always want to honk and yell out the window when I see runners, but don't for fear of looking, well...psycho. =P Car dialogue usually goes like this:

Me: Run girl run! I love her Mizunos, she looks like she's running 7:50, I wonder if that's her tempo run!
Non-runner BF: ...what the hell did you just say?
