I'm now one step closer to achieving my goal of running a half marathon before 2009. Today I got the email from Nike telling me that I was selected through the random drawing for a spot in the Nike Women's Marathon and Half Marathon!
This will be my first half marathon, and I figured for my first, I should enjoy it. With perks like a pedi-care station (for blisters and changing socks), a Ghiradelli chocolate stop, and a finisher's medal from TIFFANY (yes that's the blue box, people!), I can't go wrong.
Did anyone else get into the race?
Hope everyone's having a great week!

CONGRATS!! I know lots of ladies that want into that race. One day I'll try . . .
YAA!! I just had a friend told she was not getting in so it's great to see you get in!!!
How FUN!!
Doing it in style!
What hoot! Enjoy every moment... A tiffany box given to you by a fireman in a tux!!
I think Tree got in for the marathon too... http://treesinok.blogspot.com/
(Not 100 per cent sure though.)
OHMIGOSH -- I didn't even consider it since it would involve a plane ticket, but if I knew the medal was from Tiffany's I would have -- you know I'm all about the medals!
CONGRATS!!
congrats!! i'm not into running at ALL (or even moving around all that much, haha!), but i'm excited for you that you got a spot. :D
WOW congratulations!! That is amazing. I can't wait to hear about your training journey. =)

Congrats on the random pick! That will be fun! On the knitting side: I'm not on ravlery. I tried to get on, but I guess there is a wait list??? I used to have a knitting blog, but I didn't maintain it well so I gave it the ax.
woohoo!!!!
Congratulations! When is the race?
Congrats! That's pretty exciting. Good luck in the race. Find out if that Tiffany medal is for half-marathoners and marathoners, too.
Wow, that is impressive!! And you're right it does sounds like fun!
congratulations ..... that will be such a wonderful experience ... and I know you'll really enjoy it !!!
Congrats!! I do have my eye on that race for when the time is right!
Congratulations! I think the chocolate stop would be the highlight of the race for me. Gotta love SF.
Oh, how exciting. I can't wait to read all about it!
Congrats! I hope to do that race some day!
My half in three weeks will only feature live bands, ten-gallon hats, and people dressed up like Elvis (Country Music Half-Marathon). Chocolate and a pedicure would be nice!
Dang I'm jealous! I was thinking of entering that race (we could've been run buddies!) but thought of it too late and missed the drawing :( I'll be in the bay area most likely though, maybe I can come watch and cheer you on! -- And heck yes Tiffany's medal :):) I'm in it for the bling :)
Congrats on getting in! My friends and I were a little too late to apply, but something we're shooting for next year. Enjoy it!

Woo-hoo! I've always wanted to run this race and hope to get drawn next year. You are so lucky!
How awesome is that! Congrats.
Congratulations!!!!! What a great race to complete you goal. I am excited to hear about your training and to see the end of the of race bling!
Hello Eileen! I got my wee tiny sock today and it is so cute!
Looks like you'll be in my city this fall (San Francisco) for the Nike Marathon. I'd love to meet you! Perhaps we could visit a knitting store together (Imagiknit or Artfibers are generally the two "must see" ones in SF).
I run as well, but have been out of the loop for a couple of months now due to illness (which has finally cleared up! YAY!). I was planning on doing the Big Sur Marathon, but am now way too far out of training to do it.
Anyway, thanks for the card and lovely sock!

I'm thrilled for you! Congrats! I unfortunately didn't get picked in the random drawing! SUCKS! No blue box for me! Boo Hoo! But I think I'll do the San Fran half.
Oh man, that sounds seriously pamperingly fun.
Congratulations on getting selected. I entered with a group, but we didn't get picked. I think you might be the first person I've heard from that got in. Have a wonderful time in San Francisco!
