Running Knitter is running again!

My new running shoes came today and I promptly put them on and hopped on the treadmill. It's been a long 2 1/2 weeks without running and I couldn't wait to get out there again. I knew I had to start out slowly and resist the urge to run longer - even if I wasn't having any foot problems. So, my run was a slow, steady, and short 1.5 miles. More importantly - no pain! I even ventured outside in the 108 degrees and did a tenth of a mile outside. It felt so good to be out there running again.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July!

yeah! for new Kicks. You get out there and beat the pavement (or treadmill)... you're right to ease back into it, staying injury free so we can hear about your achievements and sucesses.

So glad you're so patient with your injury. I'd be going crazy without running.
Good job on that.

Holy mother of God - you ran outside even for a tenth of a mile when it was 108?! There are no shoes on the planet that could get me to do that - but glad you enjoyed yourself. Happy 4th!!

Yay for new shoes. When I started running again after the baby I made myself stick to the exact same 2 mile route for a long time to prevent injury.

You are smart to let your injury heal and take it slowly. Don't want to miss months of running!!

How are the push ups going?? They are tough! I think I'm dropping back a level.

I thought i was dying running 7 miles in 80 degrees... that 108 made me pass out at my desk!

I'm thinking I'm going to be training for a half marathon. I just have to work training into my daily 6 mile runs. I have a hard time cutting back on my mileage once I hit a certain point!

Yea for new shoes! It is so hard to listen to what your body needs sometimes. Hopefully things are smooth sailing from here on out.
