My new running shoes came today and I promptly put them on and hopped on the treadmill. It's been a long 2 1/2 weeks without running and I couldn't wait to get out there again. I knew I had to start out slowly and resist the urge to run longer - even if I wasn't having any foot problems. So, my run was a slow, steady, and short 1.5 miles. More importantly - no pain! I even ventured outside in the 108 degrees and did a tenth of a mile outside. It felt so good to be out there running again.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July!

yeah! for new Kicks. You get out there and beat the pavement (or treadmill)... you're right to ease back into it, staying injury free so we can hear about your achievements and sucesses.
Yay! I'm glad you are able to get running again. New shoes always make life happier :).
Three cheers for running in new shoes!
Happy 4th!
Hooray for running with no pain, new shoes, and running inside when it is 108.

Yay running! How is the treadmill running? Got a tv to run to?
Yeah! Glad the feet are cooperating.

So glad you're so patient with your injury. I'd be going crazy without running.
Good job on that.

Nice shoes! Hurray for being out running again.
Holy mother of God - you ran outside even for a tenth of a mile when it was 108?! There are no shoes on the planet that could get me to do that - but glad you enjoyed yourself. Happy 4th!!
Wow 108 degrees! I can't even imagine!
This post made me so happy!!! Yay for running again!!!!
Yay for new shoes. When I started running again after the baby I made myself stick to the exact same 2 mile route for a long time to prevent injury.
bet you feel soooo good. Don't over do it though.
Whooot! New Kicks, awesome!!!
Glad you're feeling better and back at it!

Woo hoo! Running, new shoes and venturing out in the horrendous heat! You are a rockstar!!! I'm so glad you are back at it!! Slow and steady wins the race!!
You are smart to let your injury heal and take it slowly. Don't want to miss months of running!!
How are the push ups going?? They are tough! I think I'm dropping back a level.
I thought i was dying running 7 miles in 80 degrees... that 108 made me pass out at my desk!
I'm thinking I'm going to be training for a half marathon. I just have to work training into my daily 6 mile runs. I have a hard time cutting back on my mileage once I hit a certain point!
Yea for new shoes! It is so hard to listen to what your body needs sometimes. Hopefully things are smooth sailing from here on out.
